The History Wiki uses Google Analytics 4 to understand website traffic and reader engagement. The Google tag collects information such as page views, interactions, device and browser details, and approximate location, and may use cookies to distinguish visits. The site has no reader accounts or newsletter forms. Search runs in your browser against the article titles and summaries already on the page. Search queries are not sent to an external search service.

Typography is loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the network requests needed to provide font files. The hosting provider may process standard request information to serve the website. Links to archives, museums, and other sources take you to external websites with their own privacy policies.
